Display a list of outdated pages for general users (not just for space admins)

There should be a way to display a list of outdated pages for general users – not just for space admins.

We would like the list to be displayed to all as some the users who want access to the outdated page information are not admins. In addition, this list would provide us a wall of shame and will encourage users to be more diligent about updating their content.

Thank you for adding this feature request.  Since PayPal is such a very large organization and we are well on our way to ~1,000 global spaces, we need the statistics showing outdated content to reside on a page that everyone can see.

Do you want to make any change to the list of outdated pages, or is that acceptable as it is displayed now?

In my opinion, it is perfect how it is displayed now.  Thank you.

Hi, is there any possibility of this feature?  (that everyone can see the overall results, not just admins)

Katie, I will now create a private ticket regarding this. You will be receiving a notification in some minutes, let's discuss it there.

Archiving Plugin 4.3.0 was released yesterday!

It has a new feature called "realtime page status tracking". It can be used by regular users, so it gives perfect visibility to the status of your content, without being an admin and without using email for this.

    See: http://www.midori-global.com/products/confluence-archiving-plugin/documentation/#page-status-browser

@Katie, @Doug does it solve your use case?

Two screenshots for browing the status in a space...

...or just looking at a single page:

    Ferenc,

The Realtime Page Status Tracking looks very useful since people will be served up the statistics for their space, that is great.

Also, the overall view that you link to (http://www.midori-global.com/products/confluence-archiving-plugin/documentation/#page-status-browser) -- I hope this is available for everyone in the company to see!

    Thank you!

It is visible for users with space admin permission on the given space.

Another user says: "I prefer the list of expired pages in order of age like you provide in the quality content page. "

Report in Menu PageStatus (Report as Expandable Tree):

it would be nice, if i could see all pages at once. Per example a button to explode the tree structure or to have also a flat list.

Levente said the Page Status browser "is visible for anyone who has read access on the given space" but I'm not finding that to be true.

I can see it as an admin user, but regular users (who have both view and edit rights within the space) do not have access to Content Tools > Page Status. Could you please clarify?

Also huge +1 to Adrian's request for a button that would fully expand the page tree on Page Status.

    Hi Marti,

Sorry for this confusion and thanks for pointing this out.

You are right. Currently, to access the Page Status Browser space admin permission is required. I edited the previous comment, too.

+1 for allowing users to see the Content Tools->Page Status screen

+1 a button that would fully expand the page tree on Page Status

We have non-space admins that are responsible for smaller sections of a space. It would be very helpful for them to see the "page status" display without forcing us to make them all space admins.

Can you make it so any user who has access to view a space also has access to view the Page Status screen?  Since they can view the status on each page, it would be very helpful to allow them to see the statuses all together as well. We have a large number of content owners who need to be able to monitor their pages without being space administrators.

And another vote for a button that expands/collapses all pages.

I would also love to see a column for page owner added to the page status screen since that is the person who should be taking action.

We very much need all individual users who can view a space to be able to see the complete list of pages in a space, not just space admins.

UPDATE: We have released the Better Content Archiving app's cloud version just a few weeks ago. It addresses many points criticized in the Data Center version, including also this one.

(Our plan is that, if there is interest, we will back-port the most valuable changes from the Cloud version to the Data Center one.)

In the cloud version, the Content Status Overview screen can be accessed by anyone! It lists all the spaces with precise counts of the contents in each status (2-minute video). Clicking the count, it will show the list of the matching contents:

The implementation fully respects the space permissions and the page restrictions: both the space list and the content list are filtered by the current user's permissions.

🔥 Try this in action now!
