Allow using existing spaces as archive spaces and even use the same archive space for multiple fresh spaces

Original request:

we already have a dedicated archive space for each of our space categories, we were
hoping to re-use those.

We have around ~200 spaces in our current installation, so the prospect
of doubling that just to archive content seems a bit awkward.

We were hoping for a configuration option that would allow us to select
a custom archive space from a list of existing spaces, though we
recognize this could cause issues if pages with identical names were
archived from different source spaces to a single archive target.

(Note: there are multiple non-trivial consequences of using a strategy like this.)

This would be helpful for us as well - the archiving tool stopped working on our instance and we had to create temporary archive spaces, so would be useful to be able to have those temp spaces translate over to the actual archive spaces once we get the tool working again.

Another end-user describes a use case where they would use a single archive space from which they would periodically permanently deleted archive spaces:

My idea for end of life action is to have a "Final Resting Place" (FRP) space, which could be deleted manually or possibly as part of the archiving process, and recreated upon need for more pages to delete. When it gets to this point the page hierarchy and exact page name would have need to be modified because duplicate page names are not allow in a space as you know. Perhaps a single parent for all pages in the FRP, and page names updated with a unique identifier add-on string to the existing, when necessary to make the page name unique.
Access to the FRP would need to be limited to site admins.

(When we use the same archive space, we need to introduce a consistent and clear name-conflict resolution mechanism.)
