If I ever want to retrieve/look at an archived page, I will most likely want to see previous versions of it and understand who updated it and what changes they made, like I can with any Confluence page.

Yes. Maintaining the page history of archived pages is a must for me. Without this feature, I cannot use this otherwise great plugin!
Hi!
You may want to vote on this related feature request, too: https://midori.zendesk.com/entries/30750766-Preserve-all-revisions-in-the-page-history-when-archiving-it
(It's rather likely that we would implement the two in one go.)
Yes, please add this to the plugin (LinkedIn wiki admin)
We have been waiting for that a long time treating it as a blocker. Soon, if a page could be archived with its history, it will be a green light to have it on our Wiki. ( Knowledge Manager - hybris/SAP Company).
Any updates on this? The plugin is not useful as is now. We need the full page history preserved.
@Theocharis please follow this topic. We will announce something in the next few weeks!
Hi everyone, I have great news to share!
We have release add-on version 5.1.0 this Monday, and it comes with a new feature called archiving strategies. In nutshell, the Move strategy archives pages by moving them to the archive space, thus preserving all their page versions and metadata also in the archive space!
As the short release notes says:
Starting from this release, there are 3 ways to archive pages:
- Move them to an archive space ("Move" strategy),
- Copy them to an archive space and delete them in the fresh space ("Copy and Trash" strategy)
- Or just delete them in their original space ("Trash" strategy)
Each of these have their own merits, but "Move" is the new default, as it fits the most use cases the best.
"Move" implements the most requested feature to preserve the full version history for archived pages. Thanks for everyone asking for this, we appreciate your patience and your help in finding the perfect roadmap for the add-on! Keep it comin'!
After upgrading to this version, consider switching existing archiving configurations to "Move" (guide).

Great news! thanks! :)
