We use a global admin account to create spaces and for this account to get flooded with notifications is no good. (Note also that Confluence does not allow the space creator to be changed.) It is enough if the space admins get notifications.

If you go this far, then you might want to make the notifications configurable:
I can imagine different ways of using Confluence would make one or more of these optional. (E.g. if you import the contents of a space from, say, a different wiki, the creator of the pages might be some poor guy who is irrelevant for the archiving procedure.)
Absolutely agreed.
There were multiple requests for completely turning off emails, so the "nothing is selected" scenario is totally valid.
Notifications are 100% configurable in Archiving Plugin version 4.0.0.
For all the 3 types of notifications (page view, page expiration, archiving), you can select whether to notify the page author, last modifier, space admins, space creator and a user-selectable supervisor account. All combinations are supported, including also the "notify nobody" scenario.
Update to 4.0.0 to utilize this.
