Display the archiving date on archived pages

Users would like to understand when a page was archived. If the archiving date was present not just in the audit log, but on the archived pages as well, that could serve this purpose.

It would be great, when the archiving date would be displayed directly on the archived paged. For example, right next to the other page information like page created, last edited and so on.

UPDATE: We have released the Better Content Archiving app's cloud version just a few weeks ago. It addresses many points criticized in the Data Center version, including also this one.

(Our plan is that, if there is interest, we will back-port the most valuable changes from the Cloud version to the Data Center one.)

In the cloud version, the Content Status Indicator displays the following information:

    1. status of the page or blog post
    2. expiration date (if set)
    3. archiving date (if set)
    4. content owner(s) (if set)
    5. last view (who and when)
    6. last update (who and when)

    It looks like this:

    Notes:

    • Item 1-4 can be inherited from ancestors. When inherited, you can open the ancestor from which that value was inherited from by clicking a little arrow icon (not shown in this screenshot to keep things simple).
    • Item 3 means the date when the page changes to the "To archive" status. It may occur that using a custom schedule, it will actually be archived later (e.g. the very next Sunday). If so, then the actual date of archiving can also be viewed for each content.

This multi-purpose interface gives a quick summary of all information related to the lifecycle of the page or blog post.

🔥 Try this in action now!
