Currently, Insight/Assets REST API endpoints only support basic authentication, so an admin has to pre-set an Atlassian account's email address and API token in the templates.

Chris Rogers This is a vital feature; as larger organizations move to cloud, their security teams are flagging things like these as an unacceptable security risk, even if the API credentials are only available to administrators/superusers.
