To automate PDF generation for Jira Cloud.
Better PDF Automation for Jira Cloud - DONE!
-
Greg Bailey count me in! We are on Jira Server and we have literally dozens of automated excel and PDF reports being sent both daily and weekly.
As we have no choice but to move to Jira Cloud we very much would like the 2 midori add-ons made available there. I've added my vote to CLOUD-10966. -
Björn Gullander With FDA regulations it is important that we don't rely on a manual process to get the documentation into our document handling system. With an automated process this would be made much safer.
-
Reto Müller This feature is absolutely necessary for us!
-
Vicky Tu Please vote for the feature request in Atlassian's system (very important!): https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CLOUD-10966
-
Fabio Ferrari Please, make the creation of PDF automatic for Cloud too, in a way that you can decide even to put the attachment in one ticket to store it.
-
Duke Torbert I would like to see this automation but I like to have the flexibility to have it in Excel. My customers would really appreciate it.
-
Aron Gombas @Duke what does that mean "in Excel"?
I mean, although the Cloud version is not available yet, the Server and Data Center versions provide the automation capability as part of automation rules implement with Automation for Jira. This is the standard no-code automation approach that runs "in Jira".
So what are you precisely looking for?
-
Duke Torbert @Aron I do not have a server version and I am not sure that would be the direction my company would like to go with any CRM/ERP system.
I would like to see that functionality that you mentioned in the cloud version. The ability to automatically send a PDF wouldn't really be a complete solution.
It would be nice if the functionality matched the server version.
-
Miguel Vila Ojito This would be such a god send!
-
Servicedesk i am jira admin and depend on the automation feature which is free is server version to help send to management the dashboard via email automatically on a schedule timing. Now its no longer available in cloud make me considering whether its a good idea to migrate into cloud .
-
Levente Szabo I think "no longer available" is not the correct phrasing here because it has never been available.
Atlassian doesn't allow third-party integrations for Automation for Jira Cloud yet, but they are aware that it's important for many customers, and it will come in the future.
So, it's not up to us when we can deliver it, and the best we all can do now is to vote and tell Atlassian to stop postponing this feature:
-
Marc Cecere yes
-
Servicedesk We have it installed on Jira Server and work very well now planing Migratiing to Jira Cloud and not available. Can atlassian allow this
-
David H When I discovered this possibility, I messaged my co workers on MS Teams advising that I think we have a solution to our requirements, I then proceeded to find and downloaded the app from Marketplace apps and found this forum.
This would be a great addition to Better .pdf Exporter which I refer to as the "Swiss army knife" of Jira apps - that allow the Dash Board to be .pdf'ed.
I hope this will happen one day soon. -
Tal Maizels +1
-
Nikola Zivkovic As workaround why not providing REST API (as most vendors are doing) in "Better PDF Exporter for Jira Cloud" where we can generate PDFs and attach them to issue via external script? I assume service is already available and only token authentication is required to be implemented? This will address requirements for most of the organizations who needs this, and once Atlassian implements CLOUD-10966 (who knows when) you can do it properly via additional app.
-
Aron Gombas @Nikola We are actually working on the API you are suggesting. Can you please write an email to my colleague (levente.szabo@midori-global.com) so that we can include you in the early users?
-
Shweta Singh Yes please, bring this for Jira Cloud. The Jira server is dead anyway. This app on the server is of no use if every company is migrating to the cloud.
-
Levente Szabo We are thrilled to announce that Better PDF Automation for Jira Cloud is now available on the Atlassian Marketplace!
To get started, follow these steps:
- Make sure you have Better PDF Exporter installed and Automation for Jira available
- Install Better PDF Automation
- Read the Documentation and follow the Getting Started guide (offered within the app, after installation)
If you need help, don't hesitate to reach out!
Thank you for your patience and support on behalf of the whole Midori team!
